A Botanical Dye WORKSHOP with Sam of Ruth Handmade

Join us on an exciting journey into the art of botanical dyeing! Discover how natural dyes can be sourced from gardens, grocery stores, and the world around you. Sam of Ruth Handmade will guide you in a brief lecture on the bundle dye technique before you create your own unique silk scarf, which will be provided. Along the way, you'll learn about the vibrant colors botanicals can produce, how to properly prepare fabrics for dyeing, and how to care for your beautifully dyed silk scarf.
Workshop includes:
- A silk crepe de chine scarf, pre-treated with mordant for lasting, vibrant colors
- A detailed handout with written instructions for future reference
- A variety of botanical herbs, flowers, and produce to create your unique design
- Complimentary beverages and light snacks to enjoy during the session
